        Pet's Story or Bio
Asher has been apart of our family for about 2 years now. He was brought into the clinic I used to work at by a Manatee County Animal services officer. A call was placed to them about “a dog that had caught on fire and was left in the front yard without any medical attention for 3 days.” Indeed when Asher first came in he had severe burn wounds on the front of his chest, muzzle and legs. He smelled of rotting flesh and was extremely lethargic, unable to even lift his head. The officer had said she found Asher tethered to a tree without any food or water within reach. What we saw when Asher first came in was just the tip of the iceberg. I knew that Asher deserved better...way better and took him home as soon as he was stable. After some time and a lot of love and care Asher healed from his wounds, had several masses removed and was treated for heart worm disease. He certainly did not have the greatest life but despite everything he has been through he is the MOST grateful, loving, laziest, cuddliest, sweetest dog around. He likes to go on walks and lay on his bed in the front window. He likes chewing things he shouldn’t and taking up most of the space on the bed. He also seems very happy living with his 8 other doggy brothers and sisters and 2 toddler human brother and sister. He is the definition of an old sweet soul and deserves every bit of happiness he can get
