Pet's Story or Bio
Mia is a Spanish chica originally from Puerto Rico. She was rescued from the earthquakes and while in the shelter there she almost died from meningoencephalitis. She completely lost the use of all 4 limbs and was a day from being put down. The rescue asked for one more day to see if she would respond to medication. And she did!! She was then flown to Miami in December 2019. After making her way up to Tampa we found out about her and adopted her. She came to our family shortly after our elderly Labrador had passed away. That was such a painful time. Mia brought such joy and healing to our family. She seems to instinctively know when you are sad and will put her head on your hand. We adore her. But how could you not? She is the sweetest, gentlest, silliest dog you have ever met.
