Pet's Story or Bio
Archie’s story began on August 6, 2016. My wife Amanda, our son Nickolas and I (Tim) stopped by the Humane Society of Pasco county to drop off a donation before going to the Tampa Bay Rays baseball game that evening. When we arrived at the shelter we saw that they had recently received 6 Shih Tzus. They we all in pretty rough shape, their previous owners were an elderly couple that was unable to care for them anymore. Amanda was looking at all of the dogs and was visibly shaken at their condition. She held a dog that the shelter had called Robin. He had a bad skin condition and was completely terrified. Amanda turned to look at me and I saw this look in her eyes. I immediately went to the shelter staff and told them to start the paperwork because we weren’t leaving without Robin. On the way home we were trying to think of a new name, none of us really liked the name Robin. We are all big Tampa Bay Rays fans and since Chris Archer was the starting pitcher at that night’s game, we knew Archie was the perfect name. We brought Archie home to meet his sister Chloe, our Siberian Husky. I won’t say they’re BFFs but they tolerate each other. The first few weeks weren’t easy for Archie or us. His world had been turned upside down, he was scared and he didn’t know if he could trust us. Four years later, he’s the happiest and most loving dog.
