A little about me...
We adopted Cody from the Humane Society of Tampa Bay in April 2020. He had just turned 7 years old. Our son had been checking the Humane Society website for a dog to adopt for months. One afternoon we decided to just go look for ourselves but the COVID-19 restrictions meant we had to be first in line in the parking lot in order to get in. So we went back the next day at the crack of dawn and are so glad we did! Cody was in the first crate to the left when we walked in. It really was love at first sight.

He came with a note saying he is a great guard dog, and gets along well with other dogs, cats, chickens and other farm animals. We don’t have a dog, or chickens, or live on a farm, but we do have two adult cats we rescued previously and he gets along pretty well with them. Cody has been a beloved member of our family from the moment we brought him home. He loves walks in the neighborhood, playing hide and seek, and really enjoys his chew toys. He gets super excited and talks up a storm whenever we walk in the door. His happy growl sounds just like Chewbacca from Star Wars! He smiles and dances around when he wants playtime or food. He also loves chilling on the sofa watching movies with us (well, he loves napping while we watch).

Cody brings us so much joy and comfort. Our family suffered a loss recently and Cody’s sweet presence has been a welcome respite from grief. He is always the same wonderful dog. How blessed we all are to have canines like Cody in our lives.
