Pet's Story or Bio
Beau is our 3 1/2 year old Pitbull Mix. He is the greatest joy in our lives and stole our heart from the day we found him. December 2011, my boyfriend and I found a tiny, white bag of bones underneath his brother's car. It was a puppy who had just been dumped by the side of the road. We kept him a kennel for a few days and monitored his health; gave him food and water, but he just wouldn't eat or drink. Day in and day out he was on my mind. I couldn't stop thinking about this little guy. So, we finally decided to take him to the vet to cure him of whatever he had. Our vet confirmed he had Parvovirus and it wasn't likely that he would make it through treatment. We had no choice but to undergo treatment and hope for the best. As we were leaving the veterinarian's office, we heard a small cry. We peeked through the window on the door to see our rescued pup curled up right next to the door, longingly staring right back at us, and a small puddle of pee in the room. I'd also like to note that we had yet to hear a peep out of him and he had not used the bathroom at all since we had found him. It was basically a miracle and more importantly, it was a sign that he knew he was ours. There was a strong connection that had been established in just the few days we had spent time with him and that would only grow stronger as the years passed. Needless to say, he pulled through and triumphed over the virus. He has been by our sides ever since. We were so lucky to have had the opportunity to not only stumble upon this amazing and loyal friend, but to save him, call him our own, and give him the life he deserves. There is no doubt in our hearts or in our minds that Beau is so much more than our pet - he's truly our best friend and lights up every day. We will love him to the end.
