Pet's Story or Bio
I adopted Radar from the Humane Society 2 years ago. He'd been rescued from a kill shelter in Sebring. I was a volunteer at the shelter at the time and had taken Radar (named Christopher back then) for a walk and considered adopting him, but a young couple adopted him that day. A few weeks later he was returned because he had torn up their carpet, barked excessively, and refused to go to the bathroom when on leash. I adopted him immediately. He's lucky he's so cute or I might have returned him, too, because he was so destructive and had intense separation anxiety. But the even greater problem was that my other dog could barely tolerate him. After 3 weeks, I was about ready to give up, but Dana convinced me to give it one more week. Thank goodness I did because in that next week he settled in and my other dog began to play with him. Now they can't stand to be separated from each other. Radar is an extremely high energy, athletic dog. He jumps fences with ease, once jumping into the yard containing a trained attack dog. He doesn't jump that fence anymore.
