Your Pet's Story or Bio
I adopted Phoebe from the HSVC back in 2017. Her early life is unknown, as she was found as a skinny, sickly stray in Bakersfield. HSVC brought her to Ojai from a pound there, and I met her at HSVC a week or so after she arrived. As I walked down the walkway where all the dogs were waiting for someone to rescue them, I locked eyes with this pitiful looking shepherd laying in her kennel. She slowly lifted her paw up toward me and just stared at me with these deep, beautiful brown eyes. I knew in that moment that we were meant to find each other. I don't know who was luckier, her or me. 8 years later, she is still my best friend and confidant, hiking companion, and my VERY GOOD GIRL. I thank my lucky stars every night for this wonderful pup.
