Alvin came into Illinois Birddog Rescue via his mother, Clarina, who was rescued from a high-kill shelter in southern Illinois. The rescue didn't know she was pregnant until a few weeks after she was rescued! I was Clarina's foster mom and the minute I found out she was expecting I readied the house for the impending birth(s). Well, to everyone's great surprise, Alvin was an only puppy! Clarina gave birth to just one - him. I became so attached watching him grow that I could not give him up. That is called "Failed Foster", when you end up adopting a dog you started out fostering for a rescue. As you can see know, Alvin is the cutest Pointer/Beagle mix ever!! I adore him! And the rest is history!
