Rules
- The contest will commence at 12:00 AM (Central Time) on Sunday, May 14, 2023, and conclude at 10:00 PM (Central Time) on Saturday, September 9, 2023. It is mandatory for all fundraising activities to take place within these dates.
- Participants are allowed to enter or donate from any location. However, winners of the contest will be responsible for covering any additional expenses incurred in sending physical prizes outside the U.S.
- Participants are welcome to submit entries featuring any domesticated animals such as dogs, cats, horses, small mammals, reptiles, and birds. These animals need not have been adopted from IHRWC.
- In the event that appropriate print quality photographs are not received by the deadline, the next runner-up will be offered the opportunity to be included in the calendar.
- By submitting a photo, you will grant permission to IHRWC to use the animal's photo in future publications, promotions, and materials, including the 2024 "Pin Up Pet" Calendar. You must confirm that you own the rights to the photo you submit.
- If there is a tie for a calendar spot, the entry that was submitted to the contest first will be awarded the prize.
- IHRWC retains the right to disqualify any entry that features objectionable content or images of animals in inappropriate situations. Offensive, indecent, or obscene photos will be removed from the contest without any refund.
- Double vote days may occur during the contest, and all participants will be notified of these events via email from IHRWC (provided you have subscribed to their emails).
Calendar Photo Requirements
- To be eligible, photos must have a minimum resolution of 3600x2700 pixels (or 12x9 inches) at 300 DPI and must be in PNG, JPG, or TIFF format.
- Only photos for which the participant holds the rights are eligible. Photos taken by professional photographers that have watermarks are not eligible.
- Contest photos must contain at least one domestic animal and the animal should occupy at least 2/3 of the frame. Landscape format is preferred.
- Prizes cannot be transferred or redeemed for cash.
- Photos must have a clean background, be in focus, and sharp. They must not be excessively filtered, edited, or altered.
- Photos may only feature domestic pets; they must not include people or wildlife.
