Founded in 2011, the Illinois Horse Rescue of Will County aims to provide shelter and care for mistreated or abandoned horses and other animals. We offer food, shelter, and veterinary services to these animals until they can be placed in suitable homes. In addition, we provide educational and therapeutic programs to local schools and charities centered around these animals. As a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in Beecher, IL, our reputation for honesty, compassion, and responsibility stems from our experience and dedication.
Our mission involves animal rescue and rehabilitation with a focus on emotional healing for our outreach programs.
Our vision is to represent both animal and human interests by promoting personal growth through animal interaction and care. Our unique approach creates an environment of unconditional love and companionship, in which rescued animals and people can work together towards healing and becoming a positive force in the lives of others and themselves.
Our values are faith in God, honesty, integrity, compassion, education, and professionalism.
Our facility currently has a 28-stall, 11-pasture layout. Upon being rescued, the animals are housed and evaluated. They receive medical attention, and an individualized care plan is created. After recovery, each animal is reevaluated to be placed for adoption or participate in our various programs.
As a non-profit organization, we receive no state or government funding. Instead, we rely solely on donations from generous people who care about the animals we rescue. Our budget is dedicated to the animals we rescue, their medical attention, food, bedding, maintenance of the rescue facility, and the development of educational and outreach programs with local schools and charities.
