Indy Neighborhood Cats (INC) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization and the only group in Indianapolis with dedicated boots on the ground focused on tackling cat overpopulation through Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR). TNR is a proven, humane method and one of the four key strategies used to proactively address the overpopulation crisis among free-roaming cats.
Founded in August 2019, INC prioritizes working in the most underserved neighborhoods of Indianapolis—areas where animal enforcement teams receive the highest volume of calls related to stray and community cats.
In just six years, Indy Neighborhood Cats has grown exponentially, successfully trapping, neutering/spaying, and vaccinating more than 12,000 cats. This remarkable impact has been possible through strong collaboration with animal welfare partners across the city. INC’s primary partners include FIDO Indy, Indianapolis Animal Care Services, IndyHumane, Friends of Indy Animals, and the Nina Mason Pulliam Charitable Trust.
