My Story
My name is Maverick and I am a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever. You probably have not heard of my breed as I am from Canada but just trust me if you ask anyone from Canada about us, they will tell you we are very smart. We are also very loyal and I work very hard at my job – to protect my mom.

My favorite pastime is
Walking around the neighborhood, checking out the scene and smelling who has been around the block. Take me for a ride in a car with the windows down and I am happy there too!

The best thing anyone's ever done for me is
Save me! I was rescued from a life on the road. Now I have a home and a family who loves me.

I can't live without
Treats! I mean who can’t, right? I look at my mom with my puppy dog eyes and she gives me a treat. I told you I was smart. Unfortunately mom is too. She noticed that I ate treats prior to finishing my meal. Now she only gives me a treat once I finish my meal - Boo. I’ll never give up though ☺

The naughtiest thing I've ever done is
When I was a puppy I really liked my mom’s fancy shoes. I mean if they are good enough for her then I get to play with them too right? I chewed on those heals to my heart’s delight and thought mom would be so proud. But… to my surprise she wasn’t happy at all. I realized from then on that I better just let her give me things to play with…

The funniest thing I've ever done is
One day, my mom was eating a sandwich and suddenly jumped up remembering she only had 5 minutes to get her dry cleaning. She left half of her sandwich on the table so I thought I could enjoy it, however there were banana peppers on the sandwich. Gross. I spit those out on the floor. Mom came home and knew what I had done because of the evidence I left.

My favorite place to go is
Wherever mom goes!

I'm completely obsessed with
Clean laundry! I love jumping in a pile of clean laundry and snuggling with the warm clothes and the wonderful scent. I am not sure mom loves when I do that but I just can’t help it.
