My Story
When I was a young puppy a nice lady adopted me and gave me the name "Gwenivere." She took me home to her Condo and was very nice . She had a small white poodle and he quickly became my friend. I loved picking it up by the tail and dragged it around the home. This lady soon realized I was a bundle of energy and would grow to be a big girl. A couple of weeks later, she sadly decided it would be best to return me to the ranch where we first met. Luckily, my forever family had decided to stop by while out for a drive and was there waiting to meet me. Luckily, they decided I was special and meant to be a part of their family! They changed my name to "Lucy" because I had some red in my coat and said that everyone "Loves Lucy". They did a great job training me, was patient during my teething stage and life has been a great wonderful adventure! I've gone on a couple of road trips with my family. The longest road trip was from California to Key West! There were so many great smells, new sights and lots of new people that I met. This is where I learned how to board a boat for the first time. I do like boats and water(of course!). The thing I love most about my family is that there are several new family members that I get to meet and teach how to love me (grandkids). They all like dogs now. My doggy life has been good and I'm only 7 years old! I'm looking forward to more adventures and meeting new people with my family.
My favorite pastime is
My parents get up early every morning to take me on an hour walk on a trail when the sun is coming up. The air is cool and it's my favorite time of the day - often the bunnies are out, the grass is cool and there's so much to see and smell. Going on morning walks is my favorite thing to do besides eating of course.
The best thing anyone's ever done for me is
Everyone is so nice and friendly when they meet me that I honestly can not single out one thing.
I can't live without
My family and food! I love being close by my family heard and enjoy resting my head on their knees when they're eating. I make funny grunting sounds so they know I'm there in hopes they'll sneak me something to eat.
The naughtiest thing I've ever done is
My parents left a box of pumpkin pie from the local bakery on the kitchen counter before they went out. The temptation was too much for me. I'm not sure how I did it but I managed to knock down the box and carried it up a flight of stairs (intact) to my bed. I opened the box with my teeth and had a feast and licked the tin pie pan clean! It was delicious! When my parents came home and walked up the stairs they discovered the empty box and pie pan and figured out what I had done. They laughed and said that's our Lucy Girl! They watched over me to make sure I did not get a tummy ache and I was forgiven for being naughty. I'm lucky because my parents love to share "I Love Lucy " stories.
The funniest thing I've ever done is
On our road trip to Key West, my parents bought a rubber mascot chicken for the dashboard. When they stopped to get some drinks at a store they left me in the car for a few minutes. After eyeing that darn chicken for hundred of miles I do it was mu opportunity to take a closer look. I quickly jumped into the front seat, grabbed it with my mouth and bit it's head off! When my parent returned and saw what I did they laughed! I guess they really do love me.
My favorite place to go is
The dog beach in Huntington Beach! I get to run free, catch balls and play in the water. There are lots of dogs there and the weather is perfect doggy playing weather.
I'm completely obsessed with
Balls, Balls, Balls! I love to chase and catch balls. To make sure that there's always someone around to play with me, I've trained the grandkids to roll and through the ball to me as soon as they start walking! They laugh and never seem to get tired of playing with me!
