Rules

Must be a “Home for the Holiday” participant or foster of the Kaua’i Humane Society and be housing an animal considered “under KHS care”. All Kaua’i Humane Society Home for the Holiday participants and fosters during the months of November and December 2024 may enter this contest. Kaua’i Humane Society staff are eligible to enter this photo contest so long as they sign up to foster or become a Home for the Holiday participant during the photo contest period.

Submitted photos must be taken between November 1st, 2024 - Dec. 25th, 2024 with an active KHS animal considered “under KHS care” submitted to either 1 of the 2 categories: “Festive Felines” or “Jolly Good Dogs”.

Contest entry is free. You may submit no more than 5 photos total, per Home for the Holidays or Foster participant and if you have more than one foster animal, you may only qualify to win one category out of the two: “cat” or “dog”

Your photos must always include a Kaua’i Humane Society shelter pet, but can also include the foster parent’s pets, friends, and family so long as the Home for the Holidays Waiver or Kaua’i Humane Society Foster Care Agreement rules are followed. For cats, only photos of them indoors will be accepted, per our KHS guidelines. Also follow appropriate guidelines for dog safety such as leash on outdoors, avoiding triggers, and unauthorized dog-to-dog interactions.

Do not add graphics or text overlaid on your photo, we want your photos to remain unaltered to let your special memories shine. No inappropriate content or nudity. No business or company promotional attire should be visible in photos. No AI photo or AI generated effects please. Photos with signs of Artificial Intelligence and alteration will not be accepted. Subtle filters that do not alter the originality of the photo are acceptable.

Participants may submit a total maximum of five (5) photo submissions to either the cat and or dog categories, FREE to enter, and must be of photos taken between November 18th - December 25th qualify for submission so long as the animal is considered “under KHS care” and with a Home for the Holidays participant and or foster participant temporarily. We will make exceptions for photos of animals adopted from Kaua’i Humane Society as a result of the 2024 Home for the Holidays or foster program between the times of November 18th - December 25th.

Start Date: 6:00:00 AM (Hawaiian Time) on Thursday, December 26, 2024 and ends at 8:00:00 PM (Hawaiian Time) on Wednesday, January 1, 2025 . Anyone is eligible to vote for their favorite and most festive Shelter Pet Photo, $1 per vote with no voting limit as all funds benefit the Kaua’i Humane Society.

Thursday, January 2nd Winners of the dog and cat categories will be announced on social media and be emailed to set up their prize pick up date at Kaua’i Humane Society.

Only submit your photos through the GoGo Photo Contest titled “Home for the Holidays: Shelter Pet Photo Contest”. Photos submitted to the Kaua’i Humane Society social media pages or by email will not be accepted.
