Your Pet's Unique Traits
Loves people and other dogs. She’s never had the stamina to run extended periods, so I think she flunked Kauai hunting school. She doesn’t bark much except at Kauai pigs, opossums, and skunks. She dislikes water (not a beach girl), has a phobia of car rides, and hates airplane rides in a crate in cargo (too big for the cabin). She does barrel rolls and somersaults during play. She learned quickly how to “carry” out recycling items like empty plastic milk jugs; she recognizes the empty on the kitchen floor and carries it by the handle. She also learned quickly how to pick up dropped items when I recuperated from a very badly dislocated knee. Iris had broad-sided it while running full-bore at a park with her best friend.

Your Pet's Story or Bio
Iris was adopted in January 2019, at perhaps one year young. What we knew about her was from field trip notes and our own field trips and visits with her. It was spectacular to get to know her through those trips before adoption. I think we chose each other! My husband thought she was boring cuz she didn’t play fetch, but that was a blessing in disguise and he has spoiled her A LOT over the years with human food and sleeping with us.
