Fierce, loving, talks to us with her gestures and glances. She'll stare at windows until we open them. She stares at a her cup of water so we'll move it off the table to her on the ground. She learns. Brought a present, a bird, and laid it on the doorstep...still alive. I chided Kitty. The bird flew away as I approached, and Kitty chased it. Could have caught it. Stopped short, turned and looked at me. Good Christmas Kitty. And she rubbed my leg, stood there, proud. "See, I'll be a good girl," she was saying, the same phrase mom said in her twilight days (see bio).

Christmas Kitty sauntered up our carport one year after my mom passed. Acted like she lived there. This Tuxedo Torti had confident independence, charm, and a magical hold over us. She was 7mo, best guess. We fed her, did all the Vet stuff, and fell in love. We had an instant crazy, maybe mystic, connection though. The disease that took mom turned her face a deep rich golden hue, grayed-red hair slicked back very statuesque, and upon my last glance, with her slightly opened green eyes peeping at me, she looked like a sphinx goddess. So when I first spied the countenance of Kitty, I said, "Mom?" She always said she wanted to come back as a cat! Kitty loves vanilla ice-cream, like mom. Independent. Fierce. Loving. Fun. Like mom. Stories will be written. Anecdotes exist, too many to be shared. Like mom, Christmas Kitty gave me a new life.
