Tell us your Rescue Story
My daughter lost her rescued cat at 18 years old due to a long congestive failure illness. She said she would not get another cat because it was too heartbreaking, her cat was her best friend since she was a young child. About 3 weeks after her cat died, mine died of a stroke. We were both without our babies. After much time and thinking about it, my daughter opened up that she missed cats and decided she would go to a shelter and look for another. Our house was so empty without our cats. She found a beautiful grey kitten (named Mr. Greyman), seen in the right top corner of the picture. Another orange kitten, his brother, huddled next to Mr Greyman in the cage, and my daughter called me to come to the shelter to see him. We both instantly fell in love with him, too, and we picked up both! We now have litter mates hopping around our home. Mr. Greyman and Potatoes (in the middle of the picture) now fill our hearts with their playfulness and allow us both to heal from our losses earlier in the year. Pictured here are both of the kittens snuggling with my daughter in her bed.
