Tell us your Rescue Story
Snowball and Snowman were rescued from West Valley shelter together through the “New Hope” program.
Snowball was a stray and was suffering from mange when the shelter took him in. Snowball was on Blue Alert when Kitten Rescue got him from the shelter. He was swatting at the shelter staff when I first met him but let me pet him right away. That made me know there was hope for him
Snowman was owner surrendered and was very traumatized by being left there by his previous owners. He was so depressed he just sat with his head in the corner of the cage all the time. He was deemed unsocial and unadoptable because of this and was on Red Alert in danger of being euthanized after 48 hours of being placed on this list. He let me pet him and warmed up to me right away. This made me know there was hope for him. They had him listed as “This Cat” at the shelter so we had them name him Snowman on his paper work to go with Snowball.
They were both very shy at first but with time and effort they have become very friendly cats who love human attention and interaction. This was done with the help of other volunteers when they spent time at the PetSmart enclosures.
They become bonded since they were rescued.
