Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
Brennan, or "Baby B" as he was affectionately nick named, is the snuggliest, cuddliest, most handicapable fur baby you'll never meet! B is a Siamese mix that was rescued from a cat colony in the valley and it was soon discovered by KR that he was born nearly blind (he can only see vague shapes and shadows). We met the little dude on a routine trip to the pet store for fish food. However, it was KR day at the store and I insisted on a stop to see the kitties! My fiance soon spotted a little white ball of fluff with fur sticking in all directions wandering about one of the cages. This little guy stuck his arm out of the cage and my fiance grabbed his furry little paw. The two seemed to have an instant connection - it was love at first purr! Despite being completely charmed by his adorably scruffy appearance and incredibly calm personality and endeared by his vision problems, we left the store that day with only fish food. For days after, Brennan came up in our conversations and within a week of our first meeting, Baby B had found a permanent place in our hearts and home. While we know he is a cat, we've dubbed him "the critter" because his personality is so unique and he acts like a hybrid of a cat and a dog, with a meow that sounds a bit like a baby goat. He's impossibly soft, greats you at the door every time you come home, responds when his name is called, loves to snuggle and lick his people and incessantly enjoys telling you all about his day (he's very chatty)! Although his vision impairment means he'll never understand why his kitten sister, Penny, runs seemingly aimlessly about the house (chasing the "red dot"), it also is the cause of his adorable big dark "puppy" eyes that melt your heart! B's favorite games including chasing little toy mice around the kitchen floor (until he inevitablely loses them), "sneaking up" on Penny (in plain sight) and interesting for a blind cat, staring out the window. However, my fiance is still his absolute favorite thing in the whole world and the two of them are pretty much best friends! Baby B is the best kitten of all the kittens and we love him dearly!
