Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
Our beloved kitty Boo passed away in March of 2013, and after a few months we started looking for a new companion. I’d been a community foster for Kitten Rescue a couple years earlier when I found a litter of kittens in the parking garage at work, so of course the Kitten Rescue website was one of the first places I looked.

And there she was, on the very last page, listed dead last: Winky, sporting just one eye. But what a gorgeous eye it was! We met a few other kitties (including Loving Lucy, also participating here, hi Lucy!), but we could not forget Winky. She captured our hearts when she came to meet us at our house, and curiously but cautiously walked around the living room with her tail close to the ground. She still does that when something new is on the floor and she goes to check it out. Even though she now goes by the name Zuma, we still call it Winky-walking when she (or any other cat for that matter!) does it.

It has now been 10 months since Zuma joined our family and we can’t imagine life without her. She brings so much energy to the house and makes us laugh every day with her crazy antics. Her hobbies are bird-watching, napping and begging for treats, and her favorite toys are crinkle tunnels, balls and plastic springs.
