Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
Healy was hand selected by me (along with two female kittens who I later adopted myself), and was my first fostering experience. I went to the Mission Hills shelter with Kitten Rescue to pull kittens for fostering. There were so many of them, all adorable, but Healy stood out as being absolutely irresistible. It was simply impossible to see him, hold him, and walk away. He was only five weeks old and very tiny, but he had these terribly innocent big blue eyes and was a puffball of grey hair. When I got him home with the other two kittens, he jumped all over them, bit their bottoms and chased their tails. The moment his isolation period in my room ended, he began jumping off the tallest levels of cat trees in my apartment. Healy was not afraid of anything and the world was his oyster. Once he was old enough to be adopted out, many people were interested in Healy, but I decided on a young couple who seemed to match his energy and who had a beautiful one year old female kitty who needed a buddy. Healy is very happy now in his furever home, and I have fostered several more kittens after having such a great experience being a temporary mother to him.
