Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
It was love at first sight when I saw Lily (formerly known as “Whitney” and “Miss Tinky Wink”) online in March 2012. She was a kitten in a foster home in Newhall, but the distance from south Orange County didn’t hinder me from taking an afternoon off work and driving nearly 200 miles round trip to bring her to her forever home. Lily rescued me while I was going thru a contentious divorce, and had recently lost my 15 year-old tortoise shell to kidney failure. Lily’s left eye is scarred, but she functions superbly in spite of her vision deficit. Lily is loving and playful, her fur is softer than silk, and I think having one eye only enhances Lily’s charm. She melts my heart when she cocks her head and looks at me. Every day I give her kisses where her right eye once was, and I say a prayer for the Kitten Rescue angels who knew she was a life worth saving, for the veterinarian and techs who tended to her, and for her foster mom.
