Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
My name is Sheldon. I found my way to the backyard of Ed and Viki Kind last year. I hadn't eaten for so long, I was emaciated and shaking. Sitting was difficult for me, and I was itchy from fleas. Ed and Viki became my foster parents and called me "Moo" because of my spots. I gained almost three pounds after being in their care for three months. They very much wanted to keep me, but I didn't get along well with my foster brother and sister. Even though Ed and Viki were heartbroken, they knew they could find me a perfect home.

I wore a blue bow for three weeks during my adoption viewings at Pet Smart. Ed showed videos of me playing and talked to anyone who would listen. One day, Ed started talking to a lady named Melissa. She had just moved from Florida and was all alone... Just like me. She told Ed that the instant she saw me, she knew we were meant to be together.

Melissa became my Mom on November 9, 2015. She named me Sheldon after her favorite sitcom character, Sheldon Cooper. She says I act a lot like him. But I’m not finicky at all! Sometimes she even calls me Shelly Bean. She embarrasses me EVERY DAY by taking pictures. She posts them on something called Facebook... There is even a video of me acting like a fool after eating cat nip for the first time. Apparently all of her friends loved that!

Let me tell you, Melissa’s apartment is perfect! There’s a giant picture window where I can stare at the birds. She laughs when I growl at them... I'm a ferocious hunter! I'm not "chirping," I'm roaring. Melissa has all sorts of wonderful toys for me to play with. I especially love the feathers. I cuddle with her every chance I get. She even lets me curl up beside her at night and sleep in the bed with her.

I am so thankful for Ed, Viki and Kitten Rescue for helping me find my Mom. I know that they can help other cats like me find their forever homes too!
