Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
Leon is a KR cat with a colorful history. He was found living amongst a feral cat colony, unnoticed and scared. The family that owned him treated him poorly, ignored him, and eventually abandoned him. One day, a man who had been feeding the feral cats noticed Leon, and told a Kitten Rescue volunteer about the big orange lover. The man said Leon was a "nice" kitty who deserved a better life than the one he had been living. Leon hadn't learned much - except that most people shouldn't be trusted, but it was clear that he wanted to be loved. Because Leon's manners were rough, and he was getting on in years - there wasn't much hope that Leon would be adopted. That is - until he met Patrick Ellis. When they met - it was love at first sight. Leon's habit was to bump heads with people that he liked - and he was a battering ram with Patrick. Since he was adopted - Leon has become "Cat Daddy" to many foster kittens. Poncho, pictured here, was Leon's hands-down favorite. Leon would hug and kiss, clean and preen little Poncho - giving him all the love that he knew a young kitten needs to grow up trusting and loving. Leon's tough beginnings have given him an appreciation for the good things in life - and he works hard to make sure that all the Kitten Rescue fosters that come through his home are given plenty of attention, all the proper instructions on how to be a good and trusting friend, and a solid chance at a good start in life.
