Tell us your Kitten Rescue Story
Howie came to Kitten Rescue after being found with his sister in a hoarder home. He was about 1 year old and still recovering from eye infections when he found his forever home with us. He was skittish and shy, and would play in a corner so quietly, like he was afraid to disturb us. But we knew he was a big sweetie when we noticed that he was closely watching us as we petted his adopted sister - and then he started purring loudly, vicariously enjoying the attention she received.

in no time at all, he began climbing into our laps and receiving his own attention from us. His playtime became more boisterous, too, as he developed a technique of bouncing off the wall in the hallway like a daredevil.

Today, he is a big, orange, sunny ball of fur who loves to be slung over the shoulder and hugged. He enjoys a good belly rub and playing "catch me - catch you" with his adopted sister Birdie, a high-strung Siamese mix whom has benefitted from Howie's laid-back attitude. Howie loves when his canine neighbor, Abbie, comes for a visit.

Howie's motto is "Life is so much easier when you just chill out." He is an expert at finding that sunny patch of floor and the extra-plush blanket. When you pet him, his whole body meets your hand and he actually grows in size. Howie is all heart. We are so grateful to Kitten Rescue for saving Howie, looking after his health and making him available for adoption. He is a very valued member of our little household.
