Lulu may be asking for your support, but she’d also want you to know that every dog in this contest has a story worth reading. We’re especially touched by the incredible rescue journeys so many of them have had.

Meet Lulu, a two and an half years old Yorkie/Maltese rescue who has transformed from a timid pup into an enthusiastic adventurer. She came to us after spending time with a wonderful foster family through a local rescue group two years ago. When she first arrived, she had been badly matted, her eyes almost sealed shut, neglected, and terrified of many everyday sounds. The foster family patiently helped her build her confidence, starting with simple things like learning to use the stairs. With plenty of patience (and more treats than she’d like to admit!), Lulu has discovered that the world isn’t quite so scary. She’s clever, determined, and always ready for the next adventure.
So far, she’s flown to Calgary in the cabin, explored Banff and Lake Louise, camped on Canada’s East Coast, paddled on kayaking trips, travelled by train, and charmed everyone she meets along the way.
Next on her bucket list? Becoming a therapy dog so she can brighten the days of seniors with a wagging tail and her gentle spirit.
