Contest Rules

The Langley Animal Protection Society (LAPS) is proud to present the 2026 LAPS Calendar Contest, celebrating the incredible bond between people and pets. The top 12 fundraisers will receive a professional photoshoot featuring their pet with a community hero—either a local firefighter or RCMP officer. The highest fundraiser will appear on the cover. A 13th calendar spot will be awarded through a draw: one entry for every $100 raised.

Contest Dates The contest opens at 10:00:00 AM (Pacific Time) on Monday, September 29, 2025, and closes at 9:00:00 PM (Pacific Time) on Thursday, October 16, 2025.
 

• Open to any pets/owners that are able to safely attend the professional photo shoot.
• Voters may reside anywhere, but tax receipts are only available to Canadian residents.
• Deceased pets may be entered and winners choose an adoptable animal in their honour. If selected as a winner, the entrant may choose to have a LAPS adoptable animal participate in the photo shoot—pending assessment that the animal is emotionally able to enjoy the experience.
   

• Each $1 raised equals 1 vote.
• All donations must be made online and directly to the contestant’s page to be counted.
• Votes/donations received outside the contest window will not be eligible.
• Tax receipts will be issued automatically, please keep them for your records, or contact us for a copy.
  
  

• The Top 12 fundraisers win a professional photo shoot and a feature in the 2026 LAPS Calendar.
• The top overall fundraiser receives the calendar cover.
• One additional winner for the twelfth month will be drawn at random, with one entry for every $100 raised.
• Winners will be contacted within three days of the contest closing.
  
  

Additional prizing or limited-time vote-matching may be introduced during the contest, depending on sponsor participation. Updates will be posted on the LAPS contest website and official channels.

• Each entry must include a photo of the pet.
• Pets must not be exhibiting signs of distress or potential distress in the submitted image. This will be determined by LAPS staff. If concerns are raised, the entrant will be asked to provide an alternate image.
• Photos should preferably not include humans, unless the person provides written permission and appears incidentally.
  
  

• By entering, you give permission to LAPS to use the photo, pet name, and story in promotional materials, publications, and social media content aligned with the LAPS mission.
• Offensive or inappropriate pet names may be edited or disallowed. If this occurs, entrants may provide a revised name, or the next eligible fundraiser will receive the prize.
• LAPS reserves the right to disqualify any entry based on content that violates its values or policies. Donations to disqualified entries may be refunded if requested by donors.
