The Laredo Animal Protective Society (LAPS) is the oldest and most cherished animal shelter in Laredo, founded in 1951 by sisters Ella and Jennie Devine and a small group of devoted animal lovers. In 2026, we proudly celebrate 75 years of serving our community. For nearly eight decades, our mission has remained steadfast: to provide safe, temporary shelter to homeless and adoptable animals, prevent cruelty and neglect, and ensure every animal has the chance to live a healthy, loved, and dignified life. Our lifesaving work continues thanks to the dedication of our staff, the compassion of our volunteers, and the unwavering generosity of our community.

Barks & Brews Beer Label Contest – Official Rules

• Dog photos only will be accepted.
• No people may appear in photos.
• Photos must feature your own dog or a dog you have permission to enter.

The contest opens at 8:00 PM (Central Time) on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, and closes at 8:00 PM (Central Time) on Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

The Barks & Brews Reveal Party will take place in March 2026 — Date TBA.

• Submit entries online at: www.gogophotocontest.com/LAPSLaredo
• Follow the instructions to complete the entry form and upload a photo of your dog.
• A $20 donation is required for each entry.
• You may enter more than one dog (each dog requires its own entry).
• Photo Requirements:
• High-resolution images (300 dpi or higher recommended)
• Minor edits (color, contrast, sharpness) are allowed
• No major alterations or digital manipulation
• Dogs only. Cat photos or photos containing people will be declined.
• LAPS reserves the right to decline any photo that does not meet contest standards. If declined, the participant will be contacted and asked to submit a replacement.
• Once submitted, all photos become the property of LAPS and may be used for marketing, promotional, and print materials.

• Each $1 donation = 1 vote for the selected dog.
• There is no limit to the number of votes you may cast.
• You may vote for multiple dogs, including your own.
• Encourage friends and family to vote by sharing the contest link.
• All donations are non-refundable.

• LAPS reserves the right to suspend, modify, or cancel the contest in the event of technical issues, fraud, or any situation that disrupts normal contest operations.
• LAPS may disqualify any individual who tampers with the entry or voting process, violates contest rules, or engages in unfair or fraudulent activity.

By entering the contest, participants agree to the following:

• LAPS is granted the unrestricted right to use submitted photos for marketing, promotional, and print purposes without compensation.
• Entrants release LAPS, contest sponsors, staff, and affiliates from any liability related to participation, including but not limited to:
• Technical failures
• Unauthorized intervention
• Entry or vote errors
• Personal injury or damages related to prizes
• In case of disputes, participants agree that any damages will be limited to entry fees paid and waive rights to punitive, consequential, or other damages.
