A little about me...
After losing our dog of thirteen years, we wanted to rescue another. I had bookmark with the picture of a small, shaggy, buff-colored dog. I would show it to my husband and tell him I wanted a dog " just like the one on my bookmark".
For three years we searched rescue sites online and visited local shelters. We didn't find a dog like the one on my bookmark but we found several others we applied to adopt. Younger applicants with children always seemed to be selected over us.
Then we saw Sophie (formerly Buttercup) from Last Chance Ranch who needed a home without children. We were thrilled to get the call to come meet her and shocked that she looked so much like the dog on my bookmark. Sophie is now enjoying her new home, her daily walks and her neighborhood doggie friends. What a sweetheart!
