Pet Parent's Name
Lethie Lanham

A short paragraph (250 words or less) that tells voters something fun or interesting about the pet in the photo. For example, is this a LCHS adoptee or rescue dog? How long has he or she been a part of your family?
Sheba was abandoned by her owners. She wasn't very friendly but yowled and yowled a lot. I was feeding another stray and Sheba made friends with it. Soon I was spaying, neutering & getting shots for them. Sheba loved to hunt and would bring me lizards, mice, frogs and whatever else she could find. I almost lost Sheba due to a tick associated with bob cats. I noticed she was very lethargic and just not herself. She was very, very sick and had a high fever. I almost lost her, but she hung in there at the Vets ICU unit. She is doing fine now but wants to be outside hunting. She is very bored and I've run out of toys to buy to entertain her. Pay attention when your animal just doesn't act right and get them to the vet. As a warning to other cat owners, be aware of this symptom. Most domestics cats don't survive this tick bite. There have been 3 outbreaks of this tick illness here in Leon Co. I live in the woods and that was her playground. Keep your cats inside if possible. This is sometimes hard to do when they are strays. Sheba is very, very smart. She reminds me of a black Siamese and even has the kink in her tail. I had to put my other 14 year old stray cat down and Sheba has now replaced the void in my life. He gave me Sheba, so glad he did.
