A short paragraph (250 words or less) that tells voters something fun or interesting about the pet in the photo. For example, is this a LCHS adoptee or rescue dog? How long has he or she been a part of your family?
I lost my dog, Noodle, to canine dementia on New Year's Day. The devastation was real and deep. I walked through my empty house repeating through my tears that I needed "constant canine supervision"---and that's where Willow came in! She was surrendered to Big Dog Rescue on January 10, 2016, with seven puppies that she reportedly had in someone's shed on Christmas Day. As soon as her puppies were weaned, Willow was spayed and I met her just three days after that surgery at an adoption booth on the day before Valentine's Day.
I have owned many dogs, but this was the only time that the instant we made eye contact, I Knew we were Locked In Love with each other-- I knew I had what it would take to help her to be more comfortable and relaxed, and she did Exactly The Same Thing for me! I eventually got her trained to walking on a leash and riding in the car with me, (which was an astonishingly slow process!) but she Loves riding with me now, which she clearly shows me by wagging her tiny stump of a tail! She still has extreme storm anxiety, but we are figuring out ways to deal with it as best we can. She's Perfect For Me and I'm beyond Grateful to be the object of her ever-watchful eyes!
