Rosie, my Shih Tzu, age 10 and Sandy, my Pom, age 2 are both adopted from LCHS and both are rescues from puppy mills. Rosie was starting to settle into old age (like me), but Sandy has got her acting years younger. They get along so well together and really seem to love each other. I'm so blessed to have them in my life. I'm still recovering from a 6 month hospital stay and rehab and they keep me up and a lot more active than I would be without them. As I have heard many times, you may rescue a dog, but they also rescue you!
