Stryker is a rescue cat that a friend dropped in my welcoming arms about 9 1/2 years ago. He has survived many females, both dogs and cats, foster and adopted, in "his" home. He boldly strolls wherever he desires. In this picture, he spent the day waiting on the back of the couch for me to finish clearing the shelves of the entertainment center so he could enter and "own" that piece of furniture, too. He was named after the character John Wayne played in The Sands of Iwo Jima- my husbands' favorite character actor of all time. Stryker's rescue day started out with a phone call from a girlfriend who had gone to Valdosta, GA for a day at an amusement park. As she was departing the gas station she heard an awful sound coming from the dumpster, and she discovered a tiny kitten with huge ears and no tail (it had been cut off by the door to the dumpster). She called me, the only one she knew who would be crazy enough to take in yet another pet, and I thanked her and drove straight to the vet and had his tail sewn up, and put him on the schedule to be fixed. Even now, 9 years later, he still caterwauls his way around the house when I am out of his sight. He is the BOMB!!!
