Rocky is a Labrador mix who we adopted in May 2011. Rocky battled with severe anxiety and was dropped off at the Tallahassee Animal Service Center by his previous owners. During his time at the shelter, he graduated from the canine U.T.O.P.I.A. program. When he first came home, Rocky was shy and scared, and missing his U.T.O.P.I.A. training partner. Today, he is the proud baby "brother" of 3 rescue cats. Rocky loves riding in the car and going anywhere with us. When he knows we're going somewhere, he jumps and spins around and gets very excited. He loves dining out and is very well-behaved. We try to find as many restaurants as we can that are dog friendly and have outdoor seating. Being in the outdoors calms his anxiety - camping is one of his favorite activities. He also enjoys kayaking with us in our two-person-and-a-dog kayak. He's also a beach bum. He was apprehensive about getting in the water at first, but now when we take him to the beach he jumps right into the water. Rocky is a sweet guy who makes friends with everyone he meets. During the time we have had Rocky his anxiety has disappeared and he is now a happy pup. It makes us very happy that a dog like Rocky can have a second chance and lead a happy life.
