Pet Parent's Name
Edith Pollitz
A short paragraph (250 words or less) that tells voters something fun or interesting about the pet in the photo. For example, is this a LCHS adoptee or rescue dog? How long has he or she been a part of your family?
Jefferson was an LCHS rescue. He was found on Jefferson Street as a tiny kitten (he was, appropriately, born in October), hence his name. He grew into a big, strong, handsome guy with long black fur and a plume of a tail. Black cats do not photograph as well as many others (although his mom thinks his picture is pretty good-looking), so it's harder to adopt them out. Also, there's still that lingering superstition about black cats. Jefferson has all the attributes of a Halloween kitty--little fangs that show more than in most cats and the beautiful black coat. His real mom didn't hang around long enough to tell him that "hiss" is not a greeting. He will hiss, then purr. He's shy--that didn't help with finding a home for him, either. But, after 6 years at LCHS, he has one now. He fought kidney failure and weight loss and is coming back strong and is at his rather hefty weight again on prescription KD food. He's never going to be the life of the party, but he's coming out of his shell. With Jefferson, every day is Halloween.
