I rescued Lexie two and half years ago. She was my first dog and I was in over my head. She is so smart and so energetic and in the beginning I didn't know how to handle her, but together we learned so much and through that I somehow became this crazy dog lover. Then nearly a year ago Doak got dumped on my parents road and he wandered up to their house seriously underweight and terrified of humans. Even though he was obviously abused he instantly fell in love with Lexie and we fell in love with him. It took weeks for him to gain his weight back but months for us to gain his trust. Now, 10 months later he and Lexie love to play in their backyard, chase squirrels, go on walks and get into all kinds of shenanigans. They always greet me at the door like I'm their favorite girl in the world, and I hope I am because there is nothing I wouldn't do for these two.
