A short paragraph (250 words or less) that tells voters something fun or interesting about the pet in the photo. For example, is this a LCHS adoptee or rescue dog? How long has he or she been a part of your family?
Juno is a rescue dog from the Tallahassee Animal Shelter. I was told of her plight, two years ago, by Dana, who volunteers with the LCHS. Juno was scheduled to be "put down" at a moment's notice. She had been labeled as being "too aggressive" and so, was unadoptable - they were not even showing her to the public! They just had her penned in the back, waiting to be euthanized. But when they brought her out to show me, at our request, (Dana went with me), Juno was anything but aggressive - she was scared to death and extremely timid. I knew I had to adopt her - I felt certain that I was her last chance! She was PERFECT for me, and EVERYTHING that I was looking for in a dog, at that time. I was looking for an older dog (because of their lesser chances of getting adopted); one that was being overlooked by those looking to adopt a dog; and one that I could save from being euthanized. Juno fit the bill! And although there was no history of how she was around cats, as I was concerned about how she'd do around my beloved Tabby, I knew I HAD to adopt her and simply stated in a matter-of-fact way, "We'll make it work." And that night, I brought her home. Juno now has a forever home, and I have a world filled with doggie kisses and love! She has left paw prints on my heart!
