What makes your dog Lexington’s Top Dog?
Finn is a rescue weenie who was once used as a stud at a backyard breeder. He used to live fully outside, with no human interaction and very little interaction with other dogs. When I brought him home, he was so terrified all he could do was howl. That was just about a year and a half ago, and if you knew him then and saw him today, you wouldn’t recognize him. He began to slowly but surely work against his fear-rooted instincts and learn to trust. Some of that healing can be attributed to MTB - Mirror Twin was the first public place I took him when he was ready to leave the house. He spent the day glued to my lap on the picnic bench, but after coming back a few times, he learned to sniff out the pizza scraps from under tables, and even introduce himself to some friends. Today, he is a sassy, sneaky, but fiercely loyal boy who loves to steal a slurp of my white girl wasted when I’m not looking. Finn deserves to be Lexington’s top dog because he may have a little body, but he also has a huge heart of gold!!
