My Story
Hi, I'm Sammy, the most handsome & best dog in the world. I have been told that every day since I was 7 weeks old so I guess it's the truth. I spent my first 2 years in MI playing in the snow, running on the lake and swimming when it was not frozen. I am almost 12 and my sight has been gone for the last three years, but I have a great sniffer and I know my way around my yard and house like the back of my paw!

My favorite pastime is
Swimming. My first Labor Day in the south I spent 10 hours on the lake. I did not stop swimming and playing all day. It was the greatest day. I don't get to swim that much anymore, but when I do, I love it!

The best thing anyone's ever done for me is
Now that I am older, a lil slower and I can't see, my mom and dad have to carry me or lift me into the car or their bed. They take me with them on a lot of car rides and I just sit in the back of the car and chill. It's so relaxing.

I can't live without
My mom. She spoils me and treats me like her baby. She used to whisper in my ear and tell me that I am the number one best dog in the world. I can't hear very well, but I know she still feels that way. I am loved!

The naughtiest thing I've ever done is
I have always been a good dog. The only bad thing I have ever done (seriously), and I don't think it was that bad was run through the mud until I looked like a chocolate Lab after I had just had a bath. I really like the baths my mom gives me and must have wanted another one. She towel dries me and tells me how handsome I am. It's an ego booster!

The funniest thing I've ever done is
I love the snow! I used to jump and leep around in the snow trying to catch it in my mouth. It was so much fun and funny to watch.

My favorite place to go is
It used to be the lake for a long swim. Now it's for a nice relaxing car ride. I can still hear when someone says, Wanna go for a ride big boy?! My ears perk up and I scrammble to get up and to the car.

I'm completely obsessed with
Food! I love to eat. I'm diabetic and my mom and dad make all of my food and treats. There is nothing I won't eat. I even eat off my moms fork. She feeds me whatever healthy food she is eating. I love apples and carrots. I also am the designated pre-washer. I don't leave one spot on a dish!
