About Us

The main mission of Lizzy’s Animal Hospice (Lizzy’s Hospice House) is to provide a home environment to the most vulnerable companion animals in a shelter environment, or who would ultimately end up in a shelter, which are those who are elderly, terminally ill, and homeless. We focus on getting our senior pups from Texas kill shelters. We do not have a facility set up. Our dogs are in foster homes. Since we are an eldercare/hospice, some pups come to Lizzy’s because they fit the 10 years and up requirement. Others come to Lizzy’s because they are older and ill, whether that be terminally ill or ill simply due to bad care. We are a rescue who does not only choose those dogs who will take no time, no money, and will be adopted quickly. We are a rescue who takes pride in saying we helped this dog with dental, spay, heartworm treatment, tumor removal, helped them recover, and found them a great home Our mission certainly takes much more time, donations, and effort, but these seniors who others feel are not worth the time and effort are just that – worth the time and effort. They deserve love, affection, and to be healthy, and that is why Lizzy’s was created. We are a boutique, all-volunteer senior animal eldercare/hospice rescue. We do not place our dogs outside of Texas. We could not do what we do without the help of volunteers and sponsors.
