It's true when they say everything happens for a reason:
A few months after my husband and I purchased our first home, we agreed we were ready to expand our little family and adopt our first fur baby together. Using the Petfinder App, I found a dog in Manhattan who's picture and story stood out to me and we began the process of filling out the application. It was only a few hours after giving the reacue a video tour though our home that I got the e-mail saying we were not approved to adopt this dog. I had put so much hope into thinking he would have been ours that I was pretty upset with the news, so I decided to cheer myself up by driving to a local rescue and look a thing puppies there.
When I came across Winnie's kennel, not only did the color of her coat catch my attention; but instead of cuddling in a pile with the rest of her siblings, she kept to herself on the other side of the kennel and I related to that. I immediately sent her picture to my husband who came to check her out and he immediately agrees that she was ours.
We had to wait 3 long weeks to bring her home. At first, she was very timid and not always sure of us; but after a few weeks she really opened up to us.
We've loved Winnie for two wonderful months now and she'll be going on 6 months at the beginning of June. She's rambunctious and playful and very silly, and when playtimes over she loves to cuddle! She's been the perfect addition to our family and we could not be any more thrilled with how it all worked out. ❤️
