Perhaps I wasn't always so Lucky. Read my story to see how I got my name.

Lucky at the Lake...

My name is Lucky, and I live in Great Waters on Lake Oconee, which I’m pretty sure is heaven with squirrels.

I walk more than five miles a day, chase anything with a tail, bark at deer like it’s my job, and announce every golf cart that passes. Except the beverage cart girl. She is my friend. She understands the importance of treats and admiration!

I swim in the lake every chance I get and fetch my ball behind the house at sunset. I love sunshine, dinner table duty, head scratches and more treats than anyone can count!

But before all this, I was a rescue dog. Two days before Christmas in December 2023, my old owner threw me over a fence at an animal shelter. Then my family found me.

They say I’m lucky to have them.

But I know the truth.

They’re lucky to have me, too.

Now rainy days are my only real problem—along with people who skimp on treats. I am Lucky of Great Waters: swimmer, squirrel chaser, sunbather, golf-cart greeter, and beloved companion.

And this is my Lake.
