Dog's Story
Hi I’m Lula, a ten year old female Weimaraner. Three years ago the family in Savannah that adopted my friend Axl (a male Weimaraner, 9) and I could no longer care for us. So they posted our pictures and bios on Facebook looking to find us a new home. There was one big condition, however. Whoever wanted us had to take us both. We’ve been together our entire lives, had two litters of puppies, and suffer from anxiety if we are separated.

Mom and Dad saw the posting and decided that, after many years without canine companions, they were ready give us a home if we were a good fit for their family. So we had to be on our best behavior for a one week trial period first. It took less than an hour for all of us to know that we were meant to grow old together.

There is a saying that the third time is a charm. Lake Oconee is our third home and our third family. We’ve lived here for three wonderful years. I love the water while Axl loves riding in our boat. We all love taking long walks that keep us healthy and fit. It really is charming.
