Dog's Story
My dad sent JD to us on the day of his funeral, and this bear of a dog has brought laughter and love to us every day since.

Wading in the lake then rolling in the sand is JD's favorite pastime when not following his people everywhere they go and looking soulfully at us every bite we take.

One ear up and one ear down with one eye blue and one eye brown, JD's looks get him lots of attention, but he is no diva. He falls in love with every person he meets, and they fall in love right back.

While on her way to Lake Oconee for her grandfather's funeral, our daughter found him running down the center of the road. When she returned him to the family listed on his collar, she was told they were just feeding a stray and he needed a home. That home was ours.

Despite coming to us malnourished and heartworm positive, he is now thriving as part of our family. JD spends his mornings on the deck overlooking the lake before a walk to check in with his neighborhood friends.

We didn't rescue JD. He rescued us.
