Gus was adopted from Lollypop Farm in January 2021. He arrived at nearly 30 pounds and has since slimmed down to a svelte 17.5 lbs, though his nicknames ("Hungry Hippo," "Bubba," "Beached Whale," "Neckless Wonder") are still in heavy rotation.

Don't let his size fool you, Gus is surprisingly agile. He'll leap onto the counter to supervise meal prep, chase treats down the hallway, and balalnce on his back legs to demand attention.

A typical Gus day starts with screaming for breakfast, singing a post-meal song, finding the purrfect sun spot, wrestling his carrot and pickle toys, and monitoring squirrels, and finishes with snuggling as close to me as possible in bed.

When you can't find him, he's probably napping in his hut, on a pile of laundry, in his cat tree, or on his favorite counter stool. Just listen for the soft snores.
