Windfall's story began in heartbreak - left in the parking lot of a veterinary clinic, her back leg swollen and injured, likely after being struck by a car. Longmont Animal Control brought her to LHS, where our shelter veterinarian quickly suspected a ruptured achilles tendon. Surgery was scheduled, and Windfall began her journey toward healing.
After her operation, My husband and I as well as our 2 dogs and 1 cat fostered her. We took her to the shelter clinic for weekly follow-up care, including bandage changes and other medical conditions. Despite her rough start, Windfall remained sweet, resilient, and full of puppy charm.
She is now a permanent member of our pack and we have lovingly renamed her "Winnie."
