I still remember the day I adopted Jamie from the Longmont Humane Society—a tiny Shih Tzu with eyes full of wisdom and a tail that wagged with hope. From that moment on, he became more than a pet; he became my soul companion, my gentle shadow, always by my side no matter what life threw our way.
Jamie was a quiet kind of joy. He loved the simple things—a cozy nap curled up next to me, the thrill of a brisk walk, the comfort of knowing he was exactly where he belonged. Whether I was folding laundry or braving life's tougher days, he was always there, offering silent support with a nudge of his nose or a warm, knowing look. His favorite activities weren’t about grand adventures—they were about us. Sitting together in the sunlight, watching the world go by, being each other’s peace.
Even now, with Jamie in heaven, I feel him close. His spirit has woven itself into my everyday—a pawprint on my heart, a whisper of love in quiet moments. I miss him terribly, but I carry him with me in the laughter we shared, the gentle rhythm of our routine, and the memory of his unconditional love.
