Photo Entry Rules

Each entry is a $20 donation to Longmont Humane Society.
Photos of domestic dogs, cats, and small mammals are accepted (no people or wildlife please).
Your pet does NOT have to be adopted from Longmont Humane Society to be eligible to enter the contest.
Photos may contain multiple pets.
Photos must be high-resolution to be considered for a month spread in the calendar (3650 pixels x 2740 pixels is recommended for printing purposes - 300 dpi at 11 inches wide by 8.5 inches high. Photos taken on your cell phone are acceptable, but please be sure you submit the original image). When printed, photos may look different from digital versions.
Winning photos are based on votes by donation. The top 12 vote-getters that raise the most donations will be included in the calendar.

Only winning photos are guaranteed a month spread in the 2026 calendar.
Only the top 12 vote-getters and/or those that receive over 500 votes will receive a complimentary calendar.

Photos must be full color, and not heavily filtered, edited, or altered. Photos with professional watermarks will not be eligible.
Photos deemed unsafe, indecent, offensive, or obscene will be removed from the contest.
All entries must be submitted by 8:00:00 PM (Mountain Time) on Thursday, July 31, 2025.
All photos submitted become the property of Longmont Humane Society, which may, at its discretion, copy, edit, publish, or modify entries for use in any and all media, without limitation or compensation to the photographer or the individuals whose animals appear in the photo. The submitter of the photos does not relinquish rights to use the photos.
All photos must be uploaded; we cannot accept printed photos. Due to copyright considerations, we cannot accept any copyrighted or professional photos.
Pop-up "Double Vote Days" may be held periodically throughout the contest

Donation Vote Rules

To vote online, click on the Participate tab above. The online voting period will end at 8:00:00 PM (Mountain Time) on Thursday, July 31, 2025.

Each $5 donation counts as five votes. You can place all votes on one entry or divide them among multiple entries.

Longmont Humane Society is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. Please save your donation acknowledgment email for your tax files.

2026 Calendar

Calendars will be available for purchase through the Participate tab above. Calendars will be available for purchase until October 20, 2025.
Calendars will be shipped or available for pickup at Longmont Humane Society by mid-November 2025. Purchasers who select the pickup option will be contacted via email with information on when calendars will be available.
All photo entries with 5 votes or more are guaranteed inclusion in the calendar or on the collage pages!
