Pet's Story or Bio
I signed up to be a Foster provider for the Louisiana SPCA and was hoping to get a doggy in the house ASAP. After about three weeks an emergency message was sent for a doggy named Mia. I wrote immediately saying I would take her. I went to pick her up and she was wrapped up in a blanket, so tiny, and shaking uncontrollably. The woman told me she had been very scared since being returned by her previous family due to behavioral issues. Once in my truck, she cowered in the corner looked resigned and depressed. When I got her home she ran behind my couch. I pulled her out and sat her on down next to me. She seemed surprised, but warmed up slowly. After about three days we were sitting in the park when out of nowhere I said, "I think I'm going to call you Skylar." I swear she jumped up and did a flip in the air. It was as if she chose the name herself, it was from that moment on I knew she would be my forever pup!
