Pet's Story or Bio
This is Beauty. I rescued her three years ago from our local SPCA in Lakeland, FL. My precious dog, Callie whom I had 12 yrs, had passed from cancer a year prior to adopting Beauty.
It was so hard walking down through all the runners filled with dogs. My heart ached because I remembered the day I had picked out my Callie. I fed treats to each and every dog, and during the first walk thru never even noticed Beauty.
I went to walk back to a beautiful Pitbull I had seen and there she laid. Sad blue eyes starring up at me. I had tears flowing from my eyes because I remembered this was how Callie was. Scared and unsure.
I asked the volunteers to let her out, and I sat on a bench. The lady opened the gate, and Beauty darted to me, jumped on the bench, and put her paw on my lap. "Wow, that's the first time she's ever done that" the lady said. At that moment, I knew we needed each other.
From then on we've been inseparable. She follows me everywhere, constantly lays on my lap, and loves to sleep and sit like a person. We heard she had a rough life, she is a catahoula and didn't do well around guns, so they bred her and turned her in. She has bad anxiety to loud noises, and has shredded quite a few things in my house. But I know she is just frightened and can't control her anxiety.
She fits in perfectly with my three rescue cats, (that climb on her and sleep on her), and my mastiff Bowski is her best friend. I am so happy she found me. She's kept me strong when I felt I was falling apart, and she makes me laugh from her sitting positions and how she plays with the other pets.
Car rides and all things food are her favorite, and our bond is amazing. It's like I've had her since she was a puppy. It's been three years, and even thru boughts of health problems, she is now 100% healthy and living life to the fullest. And blessing me with that darling look, every morning I awake, and then every afternoon I come home.
I will always support adopt, not shop. She is my best friend, my support, my happiness, and my heart ❤
